[ BUILT IN THE OPEN ]
Where we are,
Where we are,
and where we're going
We're a small team building TheBidScout one deliberate step at a time — getting each piece genuinely good before the next. Here's the honest map: what's done, where we are right now, and what's coming. No vaporware — if it's not live, it says so.
The road so far
- DONE Tamed the firehose. We ingest SAM.gov and other federal sources and normalize them into one clean, source-backed record — so nothing important hides in a PDF.
- DONE Built the scoring engine. An explainable, versioned fit score — capability, geography, set-asides, deadlines, requirements — that always shows its work and labels Unknown honestly. No bare numbers.
- DONE Went deep on janitorial first. We got the scoring genuinely good at one trade (NAICS 561720) before adding a second — narrow on purpose.
- DONE Opened five niches. Janitorial, landscaping & grounds, pest control, building maintenance, and waste & refuse — one engine, five facility-services niches, live today.
- DONE Shipped bring-your-own-AI. A read-only data surface (MCP) plus billing, so paying customers can point their own AI assistant at their scored opportunities.
- DONE Opened the private beta. Self-serve signup, password or one-time-link sign-in, and your first Weekly Fit Report in minutes.
What's next
- NEXT More niches. Security & Guard, HVAC & Mechanical, and Snow Removal — added deliberately, excellent at each before the next.
- NEXT Pro. Full report history, saved & bid / no-bid tracking, and our deepest AI examination — the top tier for active bidders.
- NEXT And we keep listening. The roadmap bends toward what beta users actually need. Tell us what would help — support@thebidscout.com.
